下周日10/16 HXGNY 消防疏散演习（Fire Drill）通知
1. 本次消防疏散演习 (fire drill) 计划将于下周日 10/16/2016（星期天）进行。 演习时间：10:10 AM开始，预计10:45 AM前结束。
2. 本次演习包括所有语言课，文化课学生，及兴趣俱乐部及家长。
3. 本次消防疏散演习按红、绿、蓝三条路线撤退。 预先会把所有的语言课，文化课班和兴趣俱乐部分到红、绿、 蓝三个颜色组，分组结果会预先通知老师和家长代表。 撤退路线总的设计原则是离教室最近的安全出口。 当天走廊大厅里会有清楚的各色指示箭头指名撤退方向。
4. 演习当天请老师在开课后先点名学生人数，在听到安全警报响后， 每个班级老师和学校指定的安全员组织学生有序的按提前制定的撤退 路线撤退到安全出口。演习时，每班的家长代表应在教室， 协助安全员和老师。演习时将由有红、绿、 蓝三种标志颜色的安全员带领相同颜色的班进行撤退。 红色的班按红色路线撤退，绿色的班按绿色路线撤退， 蓝色的按蓝色路线撤退；
5. 文化课和兴趣俱乐部由任课老师或俱乐部负责人带领， 依照走廊中安全员的指示撤退到最近的安全出口；
6. 当日值班家长（parents on duty）在学生撤离时，守候在楼梯口，避免学生拥挤、摔倒。 学生撤离后，阻止无关人员进入教室。当学生返回教室时， 负责开门；
7. 学生撤退到指定位置后，由老师清点人数并有序在楼外等候， 安全员在确认演习结束后会通知大家有序返回教室。 所有的老师和学生必须返回原教室，返回教室后由老师点名确认人数 后才可以下课；
8. 当天为保证演习顺利进行，请家长在大厅依照安全员指示有序撤退。
2016-17 HXGNY Fire Drill Notification
HXGNY will conduct a school wide fire drill on Sunday, 10/16/2016. The fire drill will start at 10:10am and expected to finish around 10:45am. The fire drill includes all teachers, students and parents.
All classrooms are assigned one of three colors (Red, Green, Blue) and each color has its own evacuation route. The evacuation route will be sent to teachers in advance and there are fire marshals in the corridor to help the evacuation. Please follow your evacuation route and the fire marshal’s instruction to the nearest emergency exit, and wait outside the building. When the fire drill finish, the fire marshal will notify and guide people return the building in order.

万美秋为最。每个人心中都有一个特别的秋天，可以是绚烂夺目的， 也可以是清冷萧瑟的。《小枇杷》作为向海外儿童推广中国文化、 普及中文的平台，历来鼓励以家庭的形式开展中文学习。 因此在这个秋天，我们特组织名为“我们的秋天”的征文比赛， 鼓励全家一起参与！
参赛成员：以家庭为单位，每家由两名成员代表参加，
参赛范围：全球会写汉语的家庭。
参赛要求：作品可以有三种形式：
1.一人用中文写作，一人配图（ 可以是原创绘画或摄影）；
2.一人用英文写作，一人翻译为中文；
3.两人用中文以同一标题各写一篇。
主题必须与“秋天”有关，可以是散文、超短篇小说、诗歌等， 体裁不限，标题自定。
我们鼓励用简短、精炼的语言写出你的所见所感所思。 所有中文创作，或中文翻译不得超过800字。
截止时间：自发稿日开始收稿，三周后，
投稿方式：文字以word格式，图片以jpg或png格式发到e
请注明参赛者姓名、收件地址、联系方式和参赛儿童年龄。
评比方法：稿件经过初步筛选后在本公号发表， 全部发表后将开启大众投票，评出“最受欢迎作品奖”； 同时也通过小枇杷内部投票，评出“编辑推选奖”。 每类奖项将评出1-5名（最终获奖人数根据参赛人数按比例决定） 。
奖励方法：小枇杷纪念书袋一个或精美中文童书一套。
WACA 2016年优秀学生奖开始接受申请 Call for candidates for WACA Outstanding Student Leadership and Community Service (OSLCS) Award
WACA has offered the OSLCS Award to Chinese American students in the Westchester area since 2009. With enthusiastic participation from all local Chinese schools, the award program has served its mission and purpose very successfully. Every year, three outstanding students have been selected as recipients of the award; these students have gone on to elite universities including Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, MIT, NYU Stern, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale.
Please find attached two documents, “WACA OSLCS Award Program” and “WACA OSLCS Award Application Form,” which help explain the program’s purpose and procedures in more detail. The deadline for nomination is October 20, 2016.
Call for OCA Student Leadership Award 2016
The Student Leadership Award is an annual merit award which recognizes the achievements of outstanding Asian American student leaders from area high schools and language schools. This award is sponsored by the Westchester-Hudson Valley chapter of OCA, the foremost organization in the nation advocating for social justice for Asians in America. Several awards of $200 will be granted in Fall, 2016.
Deadline is October 23, 2016. Awardees will be honored at our annual gala on November 19, 2016 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Tarrytown. Open here for application materials.
我校威跑团WeRun参与Westchester Healing Half Marathon/10K慈善跑取得佳绩
金秋十月，我校众多帅哥美妈组队-威跑团，
On Sunday October 2 the Westchester County held its 12th Healing Half Marathon/10K race to benefit the Westchester Medical Center. Team WeRun was the Top 1 Fundraising team. Majority of the team members are from HXGNY. A big congratulations to all the participated parents that have done a good deed for our community!
