本周日 12/3  9:15am – 10:15am “寻根之旅”夏令营讲座                                      

我校连续两年参加了国侨办为12岁以上华裔学生举办的“寻根之旅”夏令营， 参加夏令营的目的是为了进一步增进孩子们对中国的了解，学习和感受中华文化。在老师领队们的带领下，同学们去了烟台，宁夏，福建，江苏和江西。明年我们会继续组队参加。本周日的夏令营讲座邀请了往年夏令营的领队老师和同学介绍夏令营的情况，欢迎有兴趣的家长参加。地点：Humanities building lecture hall 1032

For two consecutive years, our school participated in the “Root-seeking Summer Camp” in China organized by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office for overseas Chinese students over 12 years of age.  Next year we will continue to form teams to participate in the camps. The seminar on Sunday 12/3 9:15am – 10:15am have invited the previous summer camp leaders and campers to introduce the camp programs and talk about their experiences. All parents are welcome!

决出的 1,2,3 年级的前四名将参加华夏总校决赛。“朝为田舍郎，暮登天子堂”过程中讲演与口才不可或缺，欢迎家长、同学前来观战！

Just to toss into the mix of the upcoming holiday season excitement,  the Speech Contest will be held on 12/3/2017 at 1:30pm.  Parents of candidates please clear your child’s schedule for that afternoon as it will last two to three hours.  Top 4 winners from grade 1,2,3 will join the Regional Final (华夏总校决赛) .

华夏大纽约学校联系和沟通方式                                                                             

大家可能知道, 我们华夏大纽约中文学校全部是志愿者无私奉献运作的 。 最近有家长问怎样和学校沟通和联系， 下面给大家解答一下：

• 如果碰到独立处理有困难的紧急事件（比如地面上有呕吐物， 学生或者家长争吵等等），请立即联系 Humanities Building一楼大厅的家长值班组成员，由他们汇报给校长为首的Admin team来尽快妥善处理。如果事件非紧急，请电邮联系HXGNYadmin@googlegroups.com, 学校会及时关注和回复。  
• 家长若对教师的教学或其他方面有问题或建议， 中文学校鼓励家长首先跟老师沟通。若谈过了对效果还是不满意，请 电邮联系HXGNYadmin@googlegroups.com, 学校校长，语言课教务长或 文化课教务长会及时关注和回复。

How to communicate to HXGNY school admins:

As many of you may know, our HXGNY Chinese school is completely run by volunteers.  Some parents recently asked how to communicate to the school, please see below:

• If you see any situation that needs help (kids got sick, kids or parents argue etc), please immediately go to Humanities Building first floor, Parent On Duty desk area, and our admin team there will help to resolve it. If you are reporting anything that is not urgent, you can email: HXGNYadmin@googlegroups.com, our volunteer team will respond as soon as possible.   
• If parents have suggestions or questions about a certain class, we encourage parents to communicate with the teacher first. However, if it can not be resolved between the parent and the teacher, please email: HXGNYadmin@googlegroups.com, school principals and deans will help as soon as possible.  
• If you have any questions about class registration, please email: HXGNYregistrar@gmail.com
• If you need to buy textbooks, please email: HXGNYoffice@gmail.com with detailed info including kids name, grade, which class/ which teacher etc. 
• If you know any company/person who would like to be a sponsor for our school, please email: HXGNYsponsor@gmail.com

上周介绍的从康州跑步到学校的家长的事情，为了验证真伪，我们特地当面问了当事人，来自康州的肖先生，确实是每周日从康州跑到学校，一直坚持。从开学到现在，省下不少汽油费。但是，新问题来了，虽然省汽油费，但是费跑鞋，确实是两难的境地。怎么办？希望学校跑友们一起切磋，让集体的力量延续，更多人享受到锻炼的乐趣。

SUNY Purchase校方不允许在教学楼内玩Scooter，动静大而且危险，容易撞到人和学校的东西，请家长督促孩子不要在教学楼里玩Scooter。
