EQ Parenting的三个要素是：1父母和子女之间的关系；2内 驱力；3 接纳完整的孩子，不求完美。 很多家长认同EQ Parenting的理念，但还是常怀焦虑，尤其是看到孩子跟“ 别人家的孩子”不一样的时候，就会从担心到发火。如何才能有效地 读懂自己的孩子，并帮助我们自己接纳孩子的全部，无条件地相信孩 子会以自己的色彩影响这个世界？热烈欢迎您來参加本次活动。
讲员简介：廖冰博士， 充满激情地推广情商教育十余年，及具影响力。从东海岸到西海岸， 已在全国做过100多场与情商亲子教育有关的演讲或研讨会。20 07年5月，创建非营利英华国际学校，全美最先融合中英双语的小 学； 自2002年5月创建非营利英华语言学校以来，担任校长十多年并 运用与推广《马立平中文》； 自2004年创建非营利“英华在北京”语言与领导能力暑期学院以 来，每年亲自带领美国青少年在北京学习并为贫困学生服务；自20 12年创建非营利英华普林斯顿语言与领导能力学院以来，带领来到 美国的非英语母语青少年学习与实践并进行野外生存训练；自200 4年，担任新州父母子女教育俱乐部总顾问，为华人父母提供一个学 习和讨论的平台， 不断提高个人和子女情商，开发智商，增进和子女的交流。2000 年罗格斯大学工商管理硕士；1991年休斯顿大学物理博士； 1984年北京大学物理学士。2007年从美林证券公司辞职，致 力于教授数学及创建非营利学校。目前，回到美银美林工作。养育了 正在读大学的一儿一女。
As Chinese, we are no strangers to the idea that children born into a loving and nurturing family because of good karma. However, from time to time, parents will find that things does not work out despite of their best intentions. It might be even frustrating to just have a conversation with their kids!
That’s why we think parents should put the karmic test to rest and get to know the core principal in our EQ parenting world. Chinese saying “what goes around comes around”. The secret of a happy household boils down to two thing: the inner peace and caring heart, and the right technique of communicating with our children. We will bring solutions to crisis and strengthen life-sustaining love.
Dr. Liao Bin has conducted hundreds of EQ parents seminar and thousands of parents benefited from it. She will use real examples of her own and what she observed from all these years and share her wisdom with us. There will be a lot of time for Q&A for parents to ask questions, share concerns and get insights of EQ parenting.

为了丰富中文学习的课余活动，营造学习、应用中文的良好氛围，《 小语世界》特组织本次有奖征文活动。
一、征文对象：HXGNY全体在校学生以及指导/推荐老师。
二、征文主题：投稿人的近期节日（万圣节、感恩节、圣诞节等） 生活见闻以及节日重要事件的描述；题目灵活，可以是《 我的xx节日》、《快乐的xx节日》、《xx节日见闻》，等等。
三、征文要求：文体不限，字数100-500字之间； 文章必须是原创，任何剽窃抄袭行为，一经发现，将取消评奖资格。
四、征文投稿方式及截至日期：请将文章（word文档） 以email 附件（attachment)方式发送至邮箱：hxgnysub missions@gmail.com，并须在邮件题目（ subject)上标注“-有奖征文-”；截至日期：1/9/ 2017（明年元月的第二个周一）。
五、评奖方法及结果公布：评出一、二等奖若干名， 同时评出优秀指导/推荐教师奖； 获奖名单在学校newsletter上向全校公布。
演讲大赛圆满成功 Speech Contest Update
What a successful event Sunday! Our children have put forth such an incredibly captivating performance, some show astonishing maturity that brought tears to parents’ eyes. Pictures will be available on HXGNY Facebook shortly.
A big shout out goes to our judges, in particular the indepedent judges who have no kids in the contest : 何清, 许春川, 金平, 何芳, 王炼, 常秀, 雍琍，吴颖灏。 Many volunteers have contributed tremendous amount of time and energy, can’t say enough thank you to all of you, especially the score keepers/assistants, their meticulousness and integrity is the keystone to this event’s success.Special thanks also goes to our moderators Zhao Dong and Zhendi Shi. Their perfect pacing, quick wit and funny quips have crafted glistening examples for the young aspiring anchormen/women in the audience.
Top 4 winners from grade 1 to 3 will proceed to the Hua Xia 6-school Regional Final on 01/8/2017.
