正念是减压的良药。 正念即觉知; 觉知是一个巨大容器, 是平衡思考与想法的能力,专注与觉察是可训练的技巧; 如何培育正念, 照顾当下。正念父母心: 自主权; 同理心; 接纳，以孩子为师; 言教/身教, 与孩子一道成长; 脑神经重塑学。 正念减压疗效: 减压; 疼痛; 慢性病; 癌症疗愈等等

讲师资历:胡報治:前国立台湾大学心理系讲师;，美国企管硕士，前慈济基金会纽约分会身心灵健康讲座负责人, 社区志工，2006 年威郡/哈德逊区OCA 社区服务奖，美东首位华人正念减压老师。

华夏大纽约2016-2017学年注册通知 Calendar of Events for 2016-2017 Registration

Please note the following major events relating to class registration for the new school year:
  • Sunday 5/22 10:00am, Registration Seminar， B Seminar Room
    • We will discuss registration policy, what are the similarities and difference of textbooks, 马立平 和 美洲华语，and the different learning tracks including CSL.  This will help you to choose the right course for your child based on the kid learning style and family needs.
    • PayPal users will enjoy much faster and easier registration.  We strongly suggest you get a PayPal account if you don’t have one yet.
  • Tuesday 5/31 12 noon ,Online Registration Opens for Existing Families
    • 1-2 weeks prior to system opening, we will post the new school year’s information on the website, including class schedule, class description, teacher assignment if known, and teacher bios.  Links to these documents will be posted in future newsletters as they become available.
    • Please read the information and choose your classes carefully to minimize unnecessary changes and cancellations.
    • The system will be very busy during the first hour.  We have taken measures to increase server bandwidth, but it’s still possible for some users to experience delays in the first hour.  If that occurs, please just be patient and retry, and you will get through in due time.
  • Friday 6/3 10:00am: Online Registration For New Families Opens
    • Please help spread the words among your friends who didn’t attend our school in 2015-2016.
  • Sunday 6/5 10:00am -1:00pm Open House; On-Site Registration
    • Classroom visit; Textbook samples; Volunteers and teachers on site to answer your questions
    • On-site registration: If you are technology-challenged, volunteers are available to do it for you.
  • Parent Class Registration Will Start in Mid-August. 
    • Classes begin one week after children’s classes.  Details will be published later.

胸藏文墨怀若谷，身怀才艺气自华！

一年一度的HXGNY星光大道旨在为学生们提供展现才艺的舞台，提高学习中文的积极性，培养自信心，打造能力与魅力兼具的华夏之星！

上半场12:15-1:15  下半场1:25-3:00
内容：表演语言仅限中文，包括戏剧、唱歌、朗诵、讲故事、绕口令、舞蹈、小品、乐器（可为西乐）等
规则：
个人节目限时3分钟，多人节目限时4分钟
每位表演者最多可参演1个个人节目，和1个多人节目
请自备所有道具及乐器
协助播放背景音乐（表演者请尽快将MP3伴奏音乐，注意个人限时3分钟，多人4分钟，email 至zhaodongmit@yahoo.com）

为尊重所有演员，表演顺序将在当日按幼儿，低，中，高年级组内抽签决定，演出从幼儿组开始。抽签之后不做调整，请表演学生预留当日下午足够时间

报名截止日期为 05/15。

6/05 1pm Go Tournament – 大纽约华夏围棋赛

按成人，少儿，水平分组， 单循环赛。  Round robin group tournament.
报名截止日期为 05/29。

“春集”活动回顾（Spring Mart Recap）

华夏大纽约在上周日成功举办了春季集市。十七个家庭在B-room开设了摊位，许多学生带来了精心制作的招牌广告。家长、学生们在各个摊位上精 心挑选物美价廉的商品，年轻的卖主们则努力学习如何招揽顾客、讨 价还价、计算亏盈。 感谢所有参与活动的家长学生。​学生们将收入的1/3 到全部捐给了学校。下面是捐款名单：李正汉， 任钧也， 任嘉也，任昕也，Eric Wei , Michael Wei, Rick Yang, Alina Yang, Chloe Liu, Allison, Kevin Xu, Maxwell Zhang, Justin & Patric Qu, Viserin Dong, Audrey Li,  师培雅 , 在此特别致谢!
Our spring market event last weekend was a huge success. Seventeen families opened their vending booths in the B-room. Many students came with creative posters to advertise their merchandise. During the market hours, hundreds of parents and students wandered between the tables to find their favorite items at an extraordinarily reasonable price. Our young business people learned all the tricks of attracting customers, bargaining with clients and calculating revenue. Kids donated range from 1/3 to all of their collections to the school. ​ The donors ​are: Ryan Li ,  Kenneth Ren， Jason Ren，Steven Ren，Eric Wei , Michael Wei, Rick Yang, Alina Yang, Chloe Liu, Allison, Kevin Xu, Maxwell Zhang, Justin & Patric Qu, Viserin Dong, Audrey Li,  Lawrence Szczeszynski.
We thank all the students and parents for their participation and contribution to the school.

Summer program on Intensive New SAT and English/Math Enrichment.  Sponsored by A+ Group

New SAT Prep and English/Math Enrichment Program will be offered this summer from 8/1 to 8/12 (9AM-5PM) at White Plains High School. This program, aiming to substantially improve student grades, will be offered in small class size, with a complimentary high school student college admission evaluation.  This program is set up by experienced teachers including Dr. Mark Yin and Dr. Dr. Liming Liu.
