Come enjoy the great outdoor, with friends old and new. The Chinese lunch menu is mouth watering, plus BBQ that caters to the young taste buds. At 2:00pm we will kick off our秋运会team games, and wrap up the day with sweet bites of moon cakes and water melons.
Tickets will be sold Sunday 9:15 – 10:30am at B building entrance ONLY, $12 each. Online will-call tickets have to be exchanged to real ones.
Though limited, lunch service will still be provided at school 11:30am for those who regretfully will miss the afternoon fair.
Dear parents,
This Sunday we will have our first parent teacher conference (PTC) for this school year. PTC is a very important meeting for parents to know the teachers and the curriculum. It is also an opportunity for you to voice your concerns or ask questions. Please make every effort to attend and be on time.
Pre-K, K ,CLS and some classes will have PTC during class time in their own classroom. Your teacher will tell you specific time slot for you to go the classroom. Other classes will have PTC in either the B or H cafeteria. More details below.
Note: A few classes may not hold PTC this week due to absence of your regular teacher or conflicting schedule. Please follow your teacher’s instructions.

本周讲座：10:00am-11:00am, College Admissions Process and new SAT
B building seminar room
Join C2 Education as we discuss the criteria that College Admissions officers consider in the applications for the freshman class. Think like Harvard’s admissions office, and learn what differentiates a good application from a great one. Most families think about college during the student’s junior year in high school, but most experts agree that the discussion around college admissions should start in elementary and middle school. We will also discuss the changes around the SAT standardized exam, and why these changes are important to younger students now.
About C2 Education:
C2 Education was founded in 1997 by David Kim and Jim Narangajavana, two Harvard students offering private tutoring programs from their dorm room. In 2000, C2 opened their first location in Maryland. Parents Club 2015 Fall Semester registration is open on Sep 10th. The first class starts on Sep 27th. The club tuition should be paid per semester with one-time annual registration fee of $40. There is no registration fee if you continue enrolling into the same club or change to a new club in Spring Semester. The registration system has all parent club list and tuition information. The Grandparents English Club and Tai-chi Club are free for grandparents, just pay one-time annual registration fee of $40 to join one or two clubs. Bagua Club and Parents Chorus Club have 50% tuition discount plus one-time annual registration fee of $40 for grandparents. Please register as soon as possible if you are interested. For those parents who want to join the Basketball Club or Badminton Club, please go to GYM and report to Club Captains directly, the club time is 9:55am -12:50pm. For those parents who want to join the Chess&Poker club, please show up at downstairs cafeteria, the club time is 9:55am – 12:50pm.

Last On-Site Registration Session This Sunday 9/27
We will be offering the last on-site registration for this fall semester on 9/27 in the H cafeteria located on the lower level of B Building. After 9/27, we will not accept requests for cancelling or transferring children’s classes. Special cases need to be accompanied by teacher and dean’s written approval. Similarly, we can’t accept cancellations or transfers for parent clubs after 10/11.
After 9/27, if you have registration-related requests, please email registration@hxgny.org and we will process accordingly. As in the past, we still welcome any K-12 and parent students who are interested to join classes mid-semester.

Call for candidates for WACA Outstanding Student Leadership and Community Service (OSLCS) Award
Westchester Association of Chinese Americans is seeking candidates for “WACA Outstanding Student Leadership and Community Service (OSLCS) Award” for 2015 – 2016 school year. Deadline for application of Oct 15 2015 WACA has offered the OSLCS Award to Chinese American students in the Westchester area since 2009. With enthusiastic participation from all local Chinese schools, the award program has served its mission and purpose very successfully. Every year for the past five years, three outstanding students have been selected as recipients of the award; these students have gone on to elite universities including Chicago, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, MIT, NYU Stern, Penn, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale.
