校园信息：在众多志愿者的共同努力下，我们很高兴地向大家宣布，华夏大纽约分校已经签约，校址确定为在White Plains High School校园内，地址是550 North Street, White Plains, NY 10605。欢 迎大家在9月1日11:00am-2pm 实地考察(9:00am-11:00am教师培训), 到时您可以参观教室、休息区、GYM (two basketball courts for 篮球、排球、羽毛球）、游泳池、足球场、网球场等设施, 并由任课老师和Admin/PTA团队成员解答您的问题。Open House接受现场注册。我校师生可专用B楼侧门进出，直达家长休息区。HXGNY将使用B楼的全部教室和C楼的部分教室，各楼之间均由室内通道连接，雨雪天气亦通行无虞 （See Map)。

我们仍跟SUNY Purchase保持良好的关系。鉴于其装修工程仍在继续中，根据我们的注册情况已无法提供足够的教室，同时考虑广大家长让交通更便利的呼声，我们启动了备选方案。

教师培训（欢迎家长们参加):  9am-11am

我们的教师培训将于9月1日上午9点开始，我们也欢迎有兴趣的家长观摩我们的教师培训。有不少学《标准中文》的学生到了高年级，由于课文难度提高，加上自身学业负担加重，渐渐感到学习《标准中文》力不从心。有的学生只好选择辍学，为此，我们将在教师培训期间，邀请优秀的中文老师现场讲述他/她们如何搞活课堂教学气氛，调动学生的学习热情。在教师培训期间，还将有教师介绍关于HXGNY高年级（G5-G9)中文课堂教学改革的思路，为高年级中文教师的备课提供参考。主要内容有：（1）在生字/生词的筛选方面如何与HSK4/5接轨；（2）在词汇，语法，和写作练习方面，如何博采《标准中文》，《美洲华语》和《马立平中文》的精华；（3）在泛读方面，如何根据不同年龄孩子的兴趣和特点，引导学生阅读一些中国青少年喜爱的中外系列故事书，等等。总而言之，就是要想尽办法，调动学生的学习热情和提高他们的学习效率。

校委会和家长会的志愿者会组织参观教室，体育设施。

中文老师解答家长们对于“马立平”，“美洲华语” 和“标准中文”的相关问题。
文体课的老师们介绍这学年开办的文体课如Lego Robotics， Cartoon， Origami， Drawing等。

Sports facilities:

Our facility use agreement has already covered gym for basketball, volleyball, and badminton use.  Soccer team could use the external field. To better assist parents who need to access to tennis court and swimming pool, we are collecting headcounts.  Please let Office General Manager Mr. Jiajun Wu (jason_wu_2003@yahoo.com）know how you will use tennis court or swimming pool.  We will coordinate the reservation of these facilities accordingly.  The rate for our use will be $75/hour (plus lifeguard) for pool and $15/hour for tennis court.

New CSL Teacher:

Teresa Hsiao 萧德蕾: NYS certified Early Childhood, Childhood and Bilingual Education teacher who teaches both PreK-4 and Mandarin Chinese at a private school in Connecticut. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she has been responsible for helping her school establishing a Mandarin Chinese program and developing a curriculum for grades PreK-3 through 4th.

2) What if I forget password?
Please go to our on-line registration site http://reg.hxgny.org and use your email to retrieve your password. Click on “Forget Password” and your password will be sent to you.

3) Where to pay check?
Please make the tuition check payable to:HXGNY with registration ID number written on your check and mail it to:

The check will be deposited upon receipt.

4) What is the trial policy?
You may try first week for tuition free.

Before 12:30PM, 09/09/12:
Tuition refund on withdrawal (note: $40 per family management fee plus $36 per student registration fee are non-refundable)
09/09/2012: 1st day of school
09/09/12-09/15/12: Tuition refund on withdrawal: 80%
09/16/12-09/22/12: Tuition refund on withdrawal: 50%
09/23/12 and after: Tuition refund on withdrawal: 0%

6) Register cultural class only
Yes, students may take culture class only.  The tuition will be depend on each culture class. If we hire professional outside our school for culture classes, we will reserve the right to charge more for it.
