三、课程设置

Q6：中文课使用简体字还是繁体字？
A：教学以简体字为主，结合拼音，教材多使用《马立平》或《美洲华语》。请联系教务处了解更多教材体系详情 HXGNYdeans Office@gmail.com

Q7：学校提供哪些文化或兴趣课程？
A：课程涵盖美术绘画、舞蹈、音乐、合唱团、奥数、AI人工智能、Lego机器人、科学实验、武术、象棋、编程、国际象棋等，鼓励孩子多元发展。具体课程以当年各类课表为准，可在网站上查看。

Q8：每周上几节课？课程时间安排如何？
A：中文课每周日上2节（低年级：9:30am – 11:15am；高年级： 10：30AM-12：20 PM），文化课每周1节（低年级：11:30am – 12:20pm；高年级： 9：30-10：20），上课时间通常为周日上午 9:30–12:20。注册两个小时语言课，免费赠送一门文化课。请去学校网站查看详细课表信息。

A：是的！我们是大纽约地区唯一官方HSK考点（汉语水平考试），鼓励高年级学生报名参加，提升学习目标感与中文能力认证。

四、成人兴趣课程

Q11：是否为成人开设课程？可以独立报名吗？
A：是的！我们为家长及社区成员开设丰富的成人课程，可以独立报名参加，无需孩子同时在校。

Q12：都有哪些成人课程？
A：目前成人课程包括：

摄影艺术、各种舞蹈课、Kpop团舞、Zumba健身、成人武术、瑜伽、羽毛球、篮球、网球等。
太极拳、太极剑、爷爷奶奶英语俱乐部（面向祖辈的日常英语交流课程）。

七、费用与退款注册政策

Q18：学费标准？可以退款吗？
A：可以在网站上查看当年学费标准，不同课程费用不同，具体以注册系统为准。以学年为单位；付款是唯一确认方式；未付款注册会收到提醒，仍不能决定付款的会被删除，把位置让给等待付款的家庭。

转课：开学三周内, 可免费转课一次；三周后无正当理由不予转课。因特殊原因需再次转课的需教务长批准。

退课：开学三周内，退100%学费；三周后详细政策请咨询注册组。请注意：注册费不退还；书本费（除非课本保持未开封的原样）不退还。

新家庭优惠：新家庭注册可获 $50 credit；如有推荐人，推荐人也可获得 $50 referral credit。

推荐人如何获得 referral credit？

需要由被推荐的新家庭（new family）在完成注册后，给注册组 HXGNYregistrar@gmail.com 发邮件，并提供推荐人的 Family ID（existing family）。也就是说，你只需要把自己的账户 Family ID 告诉你的朋友，请她在邮件中注明即可。

注册组会核实该新家庭是否已完成新学期注册。确认后，会给推荐她的 existing family 发放 $50 credit。

每成功推荐 1 个新家庭：获得 $50 credit

无上限：例如推荐 3 个新家庭并全部完成注册，可获得 $150 credits

通常会在开学后三周左右统一处理并退费/发放 credit。

Q6: Does the Chinese class use Simplified or Traditional Chinese?

Q7: What cultural or enrichment classes are available?
A: We offer a wide range of classes, including art, dance, music, choir, math competitions, AI and robotics, LEGO robotics, science experiments, martial arts, Go, coding, chess, and more, to encourage students’ diverse interests. Offerings vary by year—please check the current course catalog on our website.

Q8: How many classes are held each week? What is the schedule?
A:

Chinese Language Classes: Two sessions every Sunday.

● Lower grades: 9:30 AM – 11:15 AM

● Upper grades: 10:30 AM – 12:20 PM

Cultural Classes: One session every Sunday.

● Lower grades: 11:30 AM – 12:20 PM

● Upper grades: 9:30 AM – 10:20 AM

Typical class hours: Sundays, 9:30 AM – 12:20 PM.

Registering for two hours of language classes includes one cultural class for free.

Q11: Are there courses for adults? Can adults register independently?
A: Yes! We offer a variety of enrichment classes for parents and community members. Adults can register independently without having a child enrolled in the school.

Q12: What adult classes are available?
A: Current adult courses include:

● Photography, various dance classes, K-pop choreography, Zumba fitness, martial arts, yoga, badminton, basketball, tennis, and more.

● Tai Chi, Tai Chi Sword, and a “Grandparents’ English Club” focusing on practical English communication for grandparents.

Q15: Are parents required to participate in school activities?
A: Yes. As a parent-participation school, each family is required to fulfill volunteer duties, such as supervising, safety patrol, and assisting with events, to strengthen the community spirit. Q17: How will I be notified of class cancellations due to severe weather or emergencies?
A: Notifications will be sent via email, parent WeChat groups, class WeChat groups, and posted on the school website. Please ensure your email is active and regularly check your class WeChat group.

7. Tuition and Refund Policy

Q18: What is the tuition? Is there a refund policy?
A: Tuition rates vary by class and are listed on the website. Annual tuition must be paid in full to secure enrollment. Registration is confirmed upon payment. Unpaid registrations will receive reminders but may be removed to accommodate waitlisted families.

Class Changes:

● One free class change within the first 3 weeks of the semester.

● After 3 weeks, class changes are not permitted without academic approval.

Withdrawals:

● 100% tuition refund within the first 3 weeks.

● After 3 weeks, please contact the registration team for specific refund policies.

● Registration fees are non-refundable. Textbook fees are non-refundable unless the books are unopened and in original condition.

New Family Promotion: New families who register will receivea $50 credit. If they were referred by an existing family, the referring family will also receive a $50 referral credit.

How does the referring family receive the referral credit?

The new family (once registered and assigned a Family ID) needsto email the registration team at HXGNYregistrar@gmail.com andinclude the Family ID of the referring existing family. In other words, you simply share your Family ID with your friend, and ask them to mention it in their email to the registration team.

The registration team will verify that the new family has successfully completed registration for the new semester. Once confirmed, the referring existing family will receive a $50 credit for each successful referral.

$50 credit per successful referral

No limit — for example, if you refer 3 new families and all complete registration, you will receive $150 in credits.

Credits/refunds are typically processed about three weeks after the start of the semester.
