学校成功举办开放日
上周日学校成功的举办了开放日， 热情接待了五十多个新家庭。
由于众多志愿者的统筹和高质量的准备工作，
整个开放日项项细节都有条不紊。
每个新家庭一进校门就受到热情接待，
从学校简介到校舍和教室参观，到课本选课解答到现场注册，
井井有条，流畅高效，
来访的家庭充分感受到我们学校的活力和团队精神！

到目前为止。百分之七十的在校家庭，包括绝大多数低年级学生，已完成了在线注册。我们再次感谢家长们对于学校工作的肯定与支持。希望没有注册的家庭尽快行动，以免错失首选。

本周日6/12 健康讲座：认识三高及成年人的健康管理

什么是三高？为什么三高那么可怕？如何预防三高？有三高要怎么办？有三高了能不吃药吗？除了三高，还有什么该要注意才能保持身体健康？
魏亨兆医生，毕业于中山医学院，布碌仑医院中心内科住院培训，美国内科协会认证。 现于CUMC任职内科导师及ColumbiaDoctors主治医师。对内科各系统疾病和健康预防拥有丰富经验，尤以高血压，糖尿病，高脂血症，及心血管疾病预防见长。

围棋比赛圆满结束
由唐洁老师和助教雷博组织的2016大纽约区围棋赛，在华夏大纽约志愿者团队的大力协助下，于六月五日下午圆满结束。这是我校首次组织的参与AGA正式排名的围棋比赛。比赛吸引了众多不同背景的选手，除我校学生外，还有选手来自于外校，曼哈顿，新择西和康州。大多数选手正在或曾在华夏大纽约学过围棋，也有专程从加州赶来支持比赛的职业二段棋手Mathew Hu。少儿选手按围棋水平和年龄均匀分成四组，每组四名。成人选手参与了AGA比赛。所有选手都表现出良好的比赛态度。经 过三轮比赛，Maurice Buchholtz, Ben Cao, Serina Wang, FangLin Yuan, and Tianqi Xing赢得一等奖，，William Zhang, Adrian Wang, Nuanyang Nova Wang, 和John Lei赢得二等奖。在AGA 比赛中，Andrew Vodopia 赢得一等奖，Jason Chimon赢得二等奖。其余选手获得参与奖。在此我们对全体参赛选手的体育精神和体育风貌表示嘉许，感谢众多家长的现场帮助。我们在此特别感谢围棋老师唐洁女士对围棋的专注和推广使我们华夏大纽约有如此精彩的围棋课和比赛。本次比赛的照片请看这里。
The Go tournament sponsored by the Huaxia Chinese School of Greater New York was held on June 5th, 2016 at White Plains High School, NY. It was the first AGA-rated tournament organized by Leon Lei and Jie Tang, with attendees from various cities in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. With over 30 attendees, children (aged 6-12), mostly Go students from the Chinese school, competed in a casual round-robin tournament while adults (AGA members) played in rated games. The tournament had a special guest, Matthew Hu 2p, from California. Along with Yingshyan Ku 3k, the two of them gave a presentation on the highlights of the Lee Sedol v. Alpha Go games. Matthew also played simultaneous games with students of the Huaxia Chinese School.
Maurice Buchholtz, Ben Cao, Serina Wang, FangLin Yuan, and Tianqi Xing won the First Prizes. William Zhang, Adrian Wang, Nuanyang Nova Wang, and John Lei won the Second Prizes. In AGA rated games, Andrew Vodopia won first place, and Jason Chimon won second place.
The tournament was a great success. The attendees provided positive feedback on their experiences and appreciated the opportunity to play Go at this convenient location. Special thanks go to Ms. Tang for her years of dedication in teaching and promotion of Go sports.

廖冰讲座总结

2016-2017大纽约华夏中文学校校委会管理团队正式成立
经董事会批准, 2016-2017大纽约华夏中文学校校委会管理团队正式成立。 校长何清， 执行副校长刘雅文、许春川， 团队分为教育、注册事务、文体活动、物流办公、安全纪律、宣传外联、技术支持、校长办公室八个部门，同时会根据不同阶段的主要工作随时成立临时性的跨部门任务小组, 您可以点击这里查看管理团队成员名单。
华夏大纽约成立四年来，从规模到质量都在日新月异地不断提高。我们衷心感谢过去一年的志愿者的无私奉献。 在新的一年里，学校团队的力量进一步加强，我们将在过去打下的坚实基础上，保持学校稳定持续的发展，并重点推进以下几方面的工作： 1. 不断提高教育质量，改进不同教材、不同年级之间的衔接，探索高年级中文教学新方法， 持续建设标准化教育评估体系； 2. 加强教师培训、增进教师交流；3. 完善学校管理、操作的正规化、标准化建设；4. 推进文体活动小型化、民主化， 增加家长学生参与度；5. 扩大学校影响， 反馈社区。
华夏大纽约短短四年的历史上，学校每一步的成长、每一项工作都伴随着广大家长的支持配合。 华夏大纽约是服务于全体家长的公益学校，志愿者精神是学校的魂魄，欣欣向荣的学校离不开积极参与的家长，我们希望在新的一年里，这种精神能继续发扬光大，全校参与，全民办校，让华夏大纽约不但成为最好的中文教育机构，最佳的华人心灵家园，也成为社区华人志愿者精神的丰碑。

我校将于六月十九日下午1：30PM举办大纽约华夏2015-16年度结业典礼。将有华夏学生和家长献上精彩纷呈的节目，庆贺孩子们在过去一年里取得的进步！并祝贺2016届毕业生经过十年的中文学习，圆满毕业！
