HXGNY is the biggest Chinese school in the area, how big is it exactly? HXGNY offers the most culture class choices and activities, what are the offering this year? What are the school’s education initiatives? What are the parents’ responsibilities? What are the security and building logistics parents should be aware of? Come meet with the school administrative staff, you will find the answer. This Sunday 10:00 – 11:00am at H cafeteria, the parent resting hall.

Due to class addition and class size expansion, the following classroom changes are made, effective this Sunday 09/14:
Parents Club Fall Semester registration is open on Sep 10th. The first class starts on Sep 21st. To register for culture classes, please go to http://reg.hxgny.org/. The club tuition should be paid per semester with one-time annual registration fee of $40. There is no registration fee if you continue enrolling into the same club or change to a new club in Spring Semester. The registration system has all parent club list and tuition information. The Grandparents English Club and Tai-chi Club are free for grandparents, just pay one-time annual registration fee of $40 to join one or two clubs. Bagua Club and Parents Chorus Club have 50% tuition discount plus one-time annual registration fee of $40 for grandparents. Please register as soon as possible if you are interested. For those parents who want to join the Basketball Club or Badminton Club, please go to GYM and report to Club Captains directly, the club time is 9:30am -12:30pm. - Parents please pick up children and help them switch class room after language lesson finishes
- Starting from this Sunday, parents are not allowed to sit in the classroom, or audit the class
- PreK – 2nd grade families, please use north street entrance. 3rd grade and up, please use Bryant Avenue entrance and parking lot, which has sufficient capacity for hundreds of cars. To avoid safety issues and traffic, please do not drop off/pick up at the curbside.

The Fall Picnic Party will be held on Oct. 5th, at Croton Point Park.
The Croton Point park has a big pavilion with tables (rain or shine, it is a perfect location). There are some performances, lots of fun activities for the kids, as well as playground close by. Please bring blankets to sit on during picnic. It will be a great opportunity to meet new friends and catch up with old friends, relax and enjoy the afternoon.

2014 3rd HXGNY Club Cup Tennis Open Tournament
HXGNY Tennis Club will host 3rd HXGNY Club Cup Tennis Open Tournament starting on September 21, 2014 at White Plain High School. The tournament features Men’s singles, Women’s singles and Doubles (combined men women and mixed). Regular matches and play-offs will be played from September 21 to October 5, the finals are set on Oct 12. The registration is open now, it will be closed on September 19, please email your name and contact information to hao.li@einstein.yu.edu, all tennis fans are welcome. The detail of match format and schedule will be followed.

Jasmine is currently a student at Columbia University after receiving a 2400 on the SAT. She is studying education and intends to further pursue her degree. She specializes in SAT English grammar and is quite fond of the SAT math section. Jasmine also has ample teaching experience extending from private sessions to large preparatory classes.

Our 2014-2015 school year will start this Sunday 09/07 at 9:30am. This year observes a record high student enrollment at HXGNY. With collective effort from all parents, teachers and volunteers, we will make the school a larger, stronger and better place than it has ever been.
In this school open special edition, we will make some important announcements and answer some frequently asked questions from the parents. Please read carefully.

To accommodate the larger student body, we will close C building and open 20+ classrooms in the new A building. The A building is on the same side as the auditorium. B building will also open. All preK to 2nd grade and AP classes will be in B building, using last year’s parking lot and entrance. 3rd grade and above will be in the new A building. The closest parking lot and entrance is the large parking lot outside the auditorium. Please follow the road sign on the school open day.
Due to new high school policy, H room, the high ceiling hall where parents rest, will be closed. The seminar room will still be open, and will still be used for our future seminar events. For the comfort and convenience of the parents, we will open H cafeteria as the new parent resting area. It is twice the size of H room. Please follow the direction on school open day.

[HXGNY] All textbooks will be distributed by class parents in the classroom. However, textbooks are only available for students who have paid tuition in full before Friday 09/05. You may pay tuition in person at our registration desk. Please note, the school orders and distributes textbooks at cost. The school will not refund or exchange textbooks if the textbooks are not in pristine condition.

[HXGNY] HXGNY offers a number of interesting clubs to the parents including Line/Latin Dance, Folk Dance, Ballroom Dance, Dance Sport, Yoga, Calligraphy, Chinese Traditional Painting, Tai-Chi, Bagua, Chorus, Chess & Poker, Badminton, Basketball and Grandparents English clubs. The club schedule is available on the school website. The registration will be open on September 10th. The first class is on September 21st

[HXGNY] Yes, north and south gym will be open.
11. 孩子上学后家长可以去哪里？ Where can the parents go after dropping off kids?
[HXGNY] You can join basketball and badminton clubs at the gym with a fee. The gyms will be open this weekend. If you would like to register any adult culture class, please refer to the adult culture class section. Soccer field and tennis courts are also available on campus. This year, we are opening H cafeteria which can comfortably accommodate hundreds of people. You may rest and chat with friends over there. Starting third week of school, you can find chess, vocal clubs in H cafeteria.
12. 我以前没来过中文学校，有没有人可以给我介绍一下学校？ This is my first time to school, can someone give me a general introduction or take me for a tour?
