HXGNY Registration Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1. Where can I find information about the school and classes offered?
You can find information about our school by visiting www.hxgny.org. Information about language classes and culture classes are underneath the tab called “Registration Info” on the school home page. If you need further assistance, please send an email to hxgnyadmin@googlegroups.com and we will email and/or call you regarding your questions promptly.
2. What is the tuition for registering classes?
You can find the complete list of tuition information at http://www.hxgny.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Registration-policy_13-14.pdf . Please note that the school is running a promotion currently and offering $50 discount for each student registered prior to June 30.
3. How do I pay for the tuition?
We highly recommend you pay through either PayPal or credit card. Please click through “Check out with PayPal” button after you register. It will give you a choice to pay either through your Paypal account or using a credit card if you don’t have a PayPal account. You will receive an email confirmation from PayPal within several hours of submitting your payment.
If you have to send a check, please send to the following address: HXGNY, POBox 583, Purchase, NY 10573. Please note that it will take us approximately 2 weeks to reflect the check in the system. Any bounced check will also be charged with a $35 fee.
4. How do I pay on-line if I don’t have a PayPal account?
You can still click “Checkout with Paypal” and choose “Don’t have a PayPal account?”, then input your information and credit information there. You can even get rebate if your credit card company offers it.
5. What if I forget my password?
Please go to our on-line registration site http://reg.hxgny.org and use your email to retrieve your password. Click on “Forget Password” and your password will be sent to you.
6. What classes do you offer for the Fall 2013 Semester?
We offer six different Chinese language classes designed to suit all ages, skill levels and nationalities. These include马立平中文, 美洲华语, 标准中文, AP中文, and Chinese as Second Language (CSL). In addition, we also offer PreK and K level language classes for 3-5 year old.

7. How do I register for the classes for the Fall Semester?
Please go to http://reg.hxgny.org. If you are a new family, please select “Create New Account”. If you have an existing account with the school, please log in by entering your Email and Password.
8. Can I register for cultural class only?
Yes, students may take culture class only. The tuition will depend on each culture class. If we hire professional outside our school for culture classes, we will reserve the right to charge more for such classes.
9. What is the trial policy?
You may try first week for tuition free.
Withdrawal before 12:30 PM of the first school day: 100% refund of tuition. $50 per family management fee and $40 per student registration fee are non-refundable.
Withdrawal before the second week’s class starts: 80% refund of tuition
Withdrawal before the third week’s class starts: 50% refund of tuition
Withdrawal from the third week’s class and after: 0% refund of tuition
10. Will my children be guaranteed a spot in the class?
Currently, our system will place student into classes on a first come, first serve basis. . Your early registration and prompt payment with the school will ensure your child’s proper placement into classes he/she chooses. However, if certain classes are either over crowded or under registered, we reserve the right to open new classes or combine certain classes. In each case, we will contact you to discuss various options for your child. Our goal is to ensure your child has a wonderful educational experience with our school.
11. Can I choose my child to be placed with certain teacher?
We have highly experienced and dedicated teachers for both our language and culture classes. Our teacher bios can be found under the “Registration Info” tab on our home page. If you have a special request, please send an email to hxgnyadmin@googlegroups.com and we will try our best to meet your need. However, we reserve the right to balance the classes (number of students and boy/girl ratio) before the Fall Semester begins, in order to ensure a structured
environment for all children in the class. Teachers will be assigned the same class number if (s)he will be teaching the same grade as last year.
12. How do I change classes?
You can change classes by clicking “更新注册课程” if you have not paid yet. After payment, you can contact registration@hxgny.org for transfer and dropout classes.
13. How do I withdraw from HXGNY?
We will refund you though Paypal (if you used PayPal to pay) or check (if you used check to pay) based on our registration/refund policy. Our registration policy can be found at http://www.hxgny.org/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Registration-policy_13-14.pdf.
