语言课教师家长会 Parent Teacher Conference
Dear parents,
This Sunday we will have our first parent teacher conference (PTC) for this school year. PTC is a very important meeting for parents to know the teachers and the curriculum. It is also an opportunity for you to voice your concerns or ask questions. Please make every effort to attend and be on time.
Pre-K, K and CLS will have PTC during class time. Your teacher will tell you specific time slot for you to go the classroom. Other classes will have PTC in either the B or H cafeteria. More details below.
Note: A few classes may not hold PTC this week due to absence of your regular teacher. Please follow your teacher’s instructions.

少儿魔术大班 Magic Sr. 9:30-10:30 A212
由于地点与教师家长会冲突， 本周家长合唱俱乐部上课地点临时改为C017 (位于H Cafeteria 在 C楼一侧的门口外)。 Because of classroom overlap with parent teacher conference, for this week only, Adult Chorus Club will meet at C017, located outside the H Cafeteria on the C Building side.

Announcing New Members of the Board of Directors and the Advisory Board
We are pleased to announce that the board has elected three new board members, Ms. Holly Huang, Dr. Jun Lin and Ms Yu Lin. They all have served Huaxia community for many years as teachers and volunteers, with great experiences in education or school operations, have made substantial contributions to the school, and are all committed to serving our children and the school community in the future.
In the same time, Dr Sheldon Pang, Dr Mark Yin, and Dr. Ching Zhou had volunteered to retire from the board. They had served the school as board members over the past two years. We want to thank them for their great volunteerism and many contributions to the school. They will join the advisory board to continue their services to the school. In addition, the board has also appointed Ms Qianyun Li as an Advisory board member. Ms Li has served Huaxia as a teacher for 12 years and also served as Dean for two years.
Please join us in congratulating them all for their new leadership roles and thanking them for their dedications to the school. Please check the school website the “School Info” pull-down menu for their bios.
家长俱乐部本周日开课 Parent Club
各位家长，本周日家长俱乐部就要开课了。 请还没有注册的家长和爷爷奶奶们尽快报名， 10月5日之后注册或者未付清学费的学员需要支付迟注册费$ 20, 并且招收学员人数不足的俱乐部将被取消。
Dear parents, the Parents Club is open this Sunday. Please register as soon as possible if you are interested. The $20 late registration fee will be applied to those parents who register or pay off the tuition after October 5th. The club with less enrollment will be cancelled as well.

家长注意事项 Notice to Parents
•开始上课后请家长们不要逗留在走廊。 家长以及不上课的孩子们可以去一楼大厅(H Cafeteria),大厅有充足的座位，自动售货机，以及厕所
•请学生按照本人注册记录上课， 如需转课， 请到注册台办理。 在没有更新注册记录前， 请勿去其他班级旁听
•为保证课间教学楼秩序与安全， 请低年级家长们在语言课结束后帮助孩子们换教室上文化课
•除低年级班内值班家长外， 所有家长请勿进教室旁听.
•请勿将车辆停在以下的救火专用车道上： B楼和网球场台阶之间的环形车道，A和B楼之间的车道。 White Plains会定期巡视，可能会开具罚单。
•Parents please do not stay in the hallway after lesson starts. Please go to the lower level Cafeteria H1 room. That room has plenty of seats, vending machine and restrooms
•Students should only attend classes registered. If you need to transfer to another class, please come to the registration desk. Please do not sit into other classes before your registration record is updated and approved.
•Parents please pick up children and help them switch class room after language lesson finishes
•Parents are not allowed to sit in the classroom, or audit the class
•Please do not park on the loop driveway between B building and the tennis court stairs, or the fire lane between B and A building. You may be ticketed.

2）稿量为300-500字。（每张图片按400字的版面计算。）

2014第三届HXGNY俱乐部杯网球公开赛 Tennis Tournament
由HXGNY Tennis Club举办的第三届HXGNY俱乐部杯网球公开赛将于本周日在 White Plains高中网球场正式鸣锣开战。 本届公开赛共有11名男子选手和5名女子选手参加男女单打比赛， 小组循环赛本周日９月２１日开始，决赛定在10月１２日。 在此我们预祝选手们打出自己风格和水平， 预祝本届公开赛获得成功。
2014 3rd HXGNY Club Cup Tennis Open Tournament
The 3rd HXGNY Club Cup Tennis Open Tournament will start officially this Sunday on September 21, 2014 at White Plains High School. This tournament is organized by HXGNY Tennis Club, 11 gentlemen and 5 ladies will play for Men and Women’s singles title. Regular group matches will be played from September 21 to October 5, the final is scheduled on Oct 20th. We hope all players have a pleasant and successful tournament.

华夏大纽约父母子女教育俱乐部热忱邀请您参加读书与实践的讨论。一本好书是可以帮助我们开启新的思维方式，开阔选择视野。廖冰博士将就此书的实践意义，结合多年教育经验，带领讨论如何帮助孩子选择学校和工作。 不论是否读过此书，这场讨论都可以起到提炼精化，点明教育误区，促进对书中概念的消化吸收。
Here is a short excerpt from one of the many book reviews – “ Innovation is one of Gladwell’s favorite topics, and the book makes you think differently about what it takes to be innovative. Our cliché about innovation is that someone has to be able to “think outside the box,” but Gladwell spends much more time exploring how adversity can bring forth personalities capable of changing the world. It’s not just the ability to think outside the box that matters — one has to possess a personality capable of persevering through rejection, repudiation, and setbacks in order to make the world work differently. 廖冰博士: 2007年5月，创建非营利英华国际学校，全美最先融合中英双语与国际化探究式教育相结合的小学； 自2002年5月创建非营利英华语言学校以来，担任校长十年并运用与推广《马立平中文》； 自2004年创建非营利“英华在北京”语言与领导能力暑期学院以来，每年亲自带领美国青少年在北京学习并为贫困学生服务；自2012年创建非营利英华普林斯顿语言与领导能力学院以来，带领来到美国的非英语母语青少年学习与实践并进行野外生存训练；自2004年，担任新州父母子女教育俱乐部总顾问，为华人父母提供一个学习和讨论的平台， 不断提高个人和子女情商，开发智商，增进和子女的交流。2000年罗格斯大学工商管理硕士；1991年休斯顿大学物理博士；1984年北京大学物理学士。2007年从美林证券公司辞职，致力于教授数学及创建非营利学校。目前，在美银美林工作。
